PRO1D CIRCULAR PL

Color and contrast enhancement

Light rays which are reflected by any surface can become polarised so polarising filters are used to select which light rays enter your camera lens.
CIRCULAR PL filters allow you to remove unwanted reflections from non-metallic surfaces such as water, glass etc.
They also enable colors to become more saturated and appear clearer with better contrast.
This effect is often used to increase the contrast and saturation in blue skies and white clouds.
HOYA's polarising filters do not affect the overall color balance of a shot.

KEY FEATURES

Digital Multi-Coated
Digital multi-coated filters greatly reduce the appearance of lens flare and ghosting caused by reflections.

Black Almite Frame

Black Rimmed Glass
These filters are equipped with black rimmed glass to reduce the chance of light reflecting off the edge.

Low Profile Frame
Ultra thin filter frames to help avoid vignetting on super wide angle lenses are also designed to hold a lens cap.

UV Protected Case
Filter cases are UV protected to further lengthen the life of filters.

TIPS & TECHNIQUE

HOW TO CLEAN HOYA FILTERS

To maintain the best optical performance of your filters, here is how we recommend cleaning HOYA filters as well as all multi-coated optics.

  1. Use high-quality disposable lens tissues and a liquid lens cleaner.
  2. Make sure the glass surface has no dust or grit on it.
  3. Take a lens tissue, fold it once or twice (depending on size), and place a couple drops of liquid lens cleaner on the tissue and wipe with the tissue in a circular pattern starting from the center and moving out to the edge.
  4. Immediately follow the first tissue with a new dry tissue using the same pattern.

Warning: HOYA does not recommend using the standard fabric "lens cleaning cloths" with any liquid because dust and grid can become trapped in the fibers and damage the lens or filter on subsequent uses.

Hoya filters are "hard-coated", meaning the metals and chemicals that make up the coating are applied in a furnace to bond them to the surface of the glass.
